The app works without signal

Training in a basement or logging on the train: what the app saves, what it doesn’t, and what the bar at the top means.

Gyms are often in a basement with thick walls, and that’s exactly where you want to tick off your sets. The app is built for that.

What you can record without signal. A workout with your sets, a meal, water, a measurement, ticking off a habit or a path day, a note on an exercise, a completed form and a message to your coach. A run keeps going too: your phone’s GPS doesn’t need a mobile network.

Where it’s kept. Everything you enter is saved on your phone first. As soon as there’s a connection again, it’s uploaded automatically. You don’t need to confirm anything.

The bar at the top. Without a connection it says No connection — what you do will be saved as soon as you have signal again. If something is still waiting to be sent, you see what, for example 2 sets, 1 meal waiting for a connection. With a connection it briefly says still being saved, until everything is in.

If the server refuses something. That rarely happens, for example when a day had already been closed. Then a card appears, such as One meal wasn’t saved, with the reason. Retry tries again; Remove stops sending it. What you entered stays on your phone. If you ticked off a path day without signal that had already closed, you see Your path day of … wasn’t recorded, with OK.

What you can view without signal. The app remembers what you need most for a week: your plans and workouts, your calendar, your food diary and meal plan, your path, your habits, your points, and your gym’s classes and shop. After an app update it starts again.

What the app deliberately doesn’t store on your phone. Your conversations, the reports from your practitioner, your cycle, your diary, your forms and your photos. The app fetches those every time. So without signal and after a restart you won’t see them until you have a connection again.

What does need a connection. Booking a class or appointment, paying in the shop, and anything with AI, such as having a photo of your plate recognised.
