Issuing a gift card, how a member redeems it, how long it’s valid and cancelling a card.

Under Money → What you sell → Gift cards you record cards you sell at the front desk.

Issuing a card. Enter the value, optionally who it’s for, and until when it’s valid. You get a code. You take the money yourself; this button only records the card.

Validity. If you leave the date empty, it’s valid for two years from today. That’s the legal minimum: longer is allowed, shorter isn’t.

Redeeming. Your member enters the code at checkout in the app. The card’s balance comes off the total. If there’s something left, they can use it next time.

What’s outstanding. At the top is how much is still outstanding in cards in total. That’s not revenue, but a liability: it’s already been paid for and still has to be delivered.

Cancelling. With a reason, for example a wrong amount. After that, the card can no longer be redeemed. It stays in the list, because it was sold. If it’s already been partly used, the screen asks for an extra confirmation.
