The scanner: take a photo instead of typing

What you can record with the camera in the app: a result, a plan, a meal, a label or a measurement.

Under the middle button, in Everything, is the Scanner. Whatever is on a screen, a board or paper, you take a photo of, and the app writes it down.

What you can scan.

  • A machine’s result: the screen of a rowing machine, treadmill, air bike or cross trainer. You get a completed workout with your metres, calories and heart rate.
  • A plan on the board: the whiteboard at the gym, a sheet of paper or a notebook. You get a plan to save, or a completed workout if you’ve already done it.
  • A page from your notebook, with kilos and reps per set. It becomes a workout on the date written on it.
  • A machine: via the QR sticker your gym put on it, or via a photo if there’s no sticker.
  • Your meal, the label on packaging or the barcode.
  • A scale printout, such as an InBody or Tanita. Your weight and body fat percentage are added to your measurements.
  • Yourself, with the sports assistant watching your exercise.

You always check first. A scan gives you a filled-in form, never a final result. You see what was read, adjust anything that’s wrong, and only then is it saved.

AI costs points. Recognising a photo happens on the server and costs points, except for a barcode or a machine sticker. You see what it costs before you tap.
