Everything about your position is under Profile → Location and route sharing.
When the app uses your location. During a run, walk or bike ride that you start yourself, to measure distance, pace and route. And when you search for a gym or training spot nearby; that location is only used for that search and isn’t stored anywhere.
Permission. While using the app is needed to start a run. Also with the screen off is needed to keep a run counting when you put your phone away. Without that second one, running still works, but measuring stops as soon as your screen turns off.
Your routes. Are stored on your device first and only sent to the server when you save a run. A run you discard never leaves your phone.
Sharing. A route only appears in the community if you choose that when saving. With Share new runs straight away that box is already ticked; you still choose for each run. Please note: a shared route shows where you started, and that’s usually your home.
Privacy zones. Set up to three circles around your home, your work or your gym. Inside such a circle, others don’t see your squares, and for them a shared route only starts outside it. You see everything, and everything still counts.
Who sees your territory. Everyone, only your gym, or only you. See Your territory.
Withdrawing permission. You do that in your phone’s settings. The rest of the app keeps working as normal.
