Sending a message to several clients

Starting a group chat where clients see each other, or sending the same message to each of them separately.

Sometimes the same announcement needs to go to twenty people: the gym is closed, there’s a new timetable, the challenge starts on Monday. There are two ways to do that. The difference is whether they’re allowed to see each other.

A group chat. Under Messages → New group, or in the app with Group message. Give the group a name, such as Spring marathon group, choose the clients and optionally write a first message. Everyone is in the same conversation: you post something, they reply. You can add a poll to find out who can make it when, with one or more answers.

What your clients see in it. Each other: the names and what they write. So don’t put anything in it that’s about one person; that’s what your own conversation with them is for.

Managing it. A group has at most fifty members. As the creator, you add clients or remove them. If you leave yourself, nobody can add people any more. Any member can leave the group; they can only come back if the creator adds them again. When the last person leaves, the group disappears with all its messages.

Or separately, to each person. If you don’t want them to see who else got it, send it per client from their own record. Replies then come in separately too.

For all members of your business, there’s News for your members. See News for your members.

Use it sparingly. A message that everyone gets and nobody cares about teaches people to swipe your messages away.
