Everyone has the right to have their data erased. If a client asks for that, you record it in their record with Have record deleted. You need the Delete record permission for this.
What goes. The client details, your notes, the consultations, the forms you sent with their answers, your tasks about this client and the link with your business.
What stays. Their workouts, measurements and photos. Those are theirs and move with them. Invoices and payments also stay, because a seven-year tax retention requirement applies to them. If they delete their whole account, only their name is removed from those.
The cooling-off period. The erasure happens automatically after your business’s cooling-off period, ninety days by default. Until that day you can withdraw the request. That’s not a reason to keep data longer, but room for anyone who changes their mind.
Erasing straight away. If your client wants it gone immediately, you skip the cooling-off period. That can’t be undone.
Confirming. You type in the client’s full name. That way it doesn’t happen by accident. Note down exactly what they asked; that helps if questions come up later.
